April 30, 2010 CorelDraw Help No Comments

I decided to do a separate help fie that looks at the formats of text that you can use for the print merge function in CorelDraw. Typically most customers will be supplying you with text from either Microsoft Word or Excel. I will look at these two programs and show you how the text needs to be formatted. If you are getting information from other programs probably a CSV (commad delimited format) is the best

This is a 1 column file in excel that is formatted properly. All my names are in 1 column which is Column A (1). Leave any information out of Column B (2). In the first Cell type in an identifier for the field name (3). I used name as these are names. YOu can use anything. Just remember that Corel uses this field to identify the field and thus only starts importing data from Cell 2 and down. Enter in your names in the column (4).

To layout a one line print merge file requires you to layout all the names in 1 column. The number “1″ indicates to CorelDraw that this is a one line merge file. The second line is “name” which is the field identifier (2). Each cell is identified with 2 back slashes ( \ ). Enter you names in a column (3).
